As some of you have noticed, this website has been on hiatus for several months, and I thank everyone for their patience and support.
After getting the site started late last fall, I went on a few interesting health detours myself, starting with total knee replacement in Nov. (ouch!), my 93 year old mother’s sudden death in Dec., and some stress-related medical challenges that ensued for me in Jan. and Feb.
I was surprised how quickly I was thrown off balance and “forgot”/became unconscious around some the positive lifestyle choices I have learned to make. I also allowed some emotional stress to gain power over me (less from the fact of Mom’s death; much more from a siblings’s intense negativity), until I accepted the kind support and wisdom from friends and healers. They reminded me, like Don Miguel Ruiz does in “The Four Agreements”, to not eat others’ emotional poison, and to not take anything that others do or say around us, personally. I re-learned how powerful stress of any kind can be in undermining many aspects of our health, and how powerful the opposite can be: peace, acceptance, surrender, forgiveness, love: toward rebuilding our health and our lives.
The good news is, I’m back, I’m healed, I’m more whole than ever before, and I’ve learned a TON about regaining my balance, literally and figuratively; about rehabbing a traumatized body part; about grieving for someone dearly loved; and about slowing down enough to notice, again, the simplicity and joy embedded into every day of our lives.
I’m going to dedicate this website, and all my blogs and ebooks to come, to my Mom, whose life epitomized the possibility we all have: of living long, full, functional and vibrant lives, connecting with the people and experiences we love, until the day, the moment, that we each leave this great earth.
