I’m thrilled to announce that my first online course, called “Bite-Sized Health: Little Truths to Chew On As You Move Toward Better Health”, is open for FREE enrollment!
The course is a super-condensed version of the content in my book, How Healthy Is Your Doctor, about self-empowerment in health.
In the FREE (for now) course, you’ll “hear” me, in short, video-based slide presentations, offer 5 “Little Truths” about sickness and health, the health care system, lifestyle medicine, and the power of our own food and lifestyle choices to impact our health. The Truths are distilled from my 40-year immersion in Western medicine and my dissatisfaction with the way “modern medicine” is “managing”—with too many pills and procedures—what are now known to be “lifestyle-induced” chronic diseases.
These diseases have been rapidly increasing throughout the U.S. and the world and include heart and lung disease, diabetes, obesity, mental health problems, allergies and auto-immune diseases, cancer, and more. And they’re now KNOWN to be closely related to the unhealthy ways that many of us eat and live.
Here are the “5 Little Truths” I present in the course:
- We—not our doctors, our families, or our genes—are the most important ingredient in achieving our own best health.
- Cultural trends—and our diet and lifestyle habits—can be hazardous to our health.
- Our “disease-care” system—doctors, hospitals, insurance practices and drug companies—can be hazardous to our health.
- The food we eat has the power to transform our health.
- The way we live has the power to transform our health.
For the observant among you, yup, these are the same “themes” you’ll find in this website, my blogs, my Facebook posts, my occasional emails to YOU my beloved audience…and they’re the themes that will be in future courses that are in the works.
I note that this course is free “for now” because my goal is to create several courses of interest and value over the next couple of years, and to offer most of them as “paid” courses with options to upgrade that will include private coaching/mentoring with me.
All super exciting! It’s been a challenging, and oh so rewarding journey for me to transition from an emergency medicine doctor to a diet and lifestyle medicine doctor, and I could not be more happy about doing it. It feels SO important and SO relevant right now that more people hear and take to heart this message, of self-empowerment in health.
The “Lifestyle Medicine” movement is happening, and more and more people, including many health professionals, are being inspired and supported in finding better health through healthy diet and lifestyle change. It’s gratifying and appropriate that the official “Food Trend” for 2018 is: “Plant-Based!” I’ll talk more about food issues, and food confusion, in an upcoming course.
But for now, I invite you to take a “Bite-Sized” plunge and immerse, for a little while, in an environment of powerful health information you can “chew on,” and take with you, as you move toward better health.
Here’s to your own best health, Kathryn
